Basmati rice export data



India has exported basmati rice worth USD 478,196,022 during the period 12th June’14 to 12th July’14. The Middle-east countries consume basmati rice on a daily basis as part of their diet. India is one of the best producers of basmati rice




and is reputed to provide the best grains with fragrance that is unique to this variety of rice. The country also exports basmati rice to other countries like UAE, Senegal, Qatar, Iraq, UK, US, etc. The average value per shipment during the same period for basmati rice is estimated to be USD 5,560,419. 

At least 43% of the exports were shipped from Mundra sea port with 43% of the total exports and other Indian ports like Loni ICD, Kakinada, Kandla, Noida, Patli ICD, etc. trailing behind with 11%, 9%, 6% and 5% of the total export. The rice is exported in different varieties like husk, paddy in husk, rice crop, packed rice, long grain basmati rice, sela rice, etc. This information is provided by the customs department in the monthly Basmati rice export data prepared from routine international trade documents. Basmati rice export data provides information on the net export of the food grain from India to other international markets. Basmati rice export data of Indian reveals that Iran and Saudi Arabia to be the largest importer of basmati rice from India.
